Rivers State University suspends four students for assaulting their colleague

The management of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, in Rivers State has announced the suspension of four students who were members of the Man O’ War campus security group for one academic session for assaulting a 300-level colleague, Victor Tobin.   Acting Registrar of the institution, I.B. Court dismisses suit seeking to declare 25 Rivers Assembly seats vacant

Explosion from vandalised fuel pipeline kills 20 in Rivers

At least 20 people have died in an explosion from an illegal oil tapping point in Omoku, Ogba/Egebema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.  The incident occurred on Sunday morning, Dec. 24, after youths allegedly broke a pipeline belonging to one of the multinational oil firms operating in the area and started scopping fuel.  The fire killed those scooping fuel and those nearby.  While 20 are feared dead, many suffered varying degrees of burns and are receiving treatment in different
