President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).   Mr. Gbenga Alade was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of AMCON. Kwara Muslims ask that schools’ names be changed alongside other demands amid lingering hijab crises

Nigerian Correctional Service releases names and photos of escapees

The Nigerian Correctional Service on Wednesday October 27, released some names and images of 122 inmates who escaped from the Abolongo Custodial Centre in Oyo State.   The inmates escaped after unidentified gunmen attacked the correctional centre at about 10pm on Friday, October 22.    Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola had on Sunday said 446 out of 907 escapees in the Abologo correctional facility in Oyo State have been recaptured by security agencies.  “As at the last count, 446 of the escapees

UNICAL threatens to publish names of 42,000 graduands yet to collect their certificates since 1980s

The University of Calabar (UNICAL) has issued a three-month ultimatum to graduands of the institution who are yet to collect original copies of their certificates.    In an official memo dated June 25, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Gabriel Egbe said that there were over 42,000 unclaimed certificates in the various faculties and institutes.   Egbe said that some of the certificates date back to the 1980s while urging the owners to approach the institution to get them.   “It has
