Lawyer attends Supreme court proceedings in traditional worshipper’s regalia after apex court approved use of hijab in schools and public places

A Nigerian lawyer caused a stir at the Supreme court today June 23, when he attended proceedings in the court in his traditional worshipper’s regalia.   According to him, he decided to dress that way following the judgment of the Supreme Court delivered on June 17, that allows Nigerians express their mode of worship, which includes the use of hijab in schools and public places.   See more photos of the lawyer below…    

Kwara Muslims ask that schools’ names be changed alongside other demands amid lingering hijab crises

The  Muslim community in Kwara State has suggested that the names of all schools formerly owned by Muslim and Christian proprietors in the state should be changed as part of solutions to the hijab crisis in the state.   In a letter addressed to the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Muslim community recommended six actions to be taken by the government in resolving the issue of hijab-wearing by female Muslim students in all public schools in the state.   The letter
