Pastor Tunde Bakare kicks against reopening of churches

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the serving General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly has kicked against the reopening of churches by the Lagos state government.    Reacting to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s directive of reopening religious centres for services from August 7, the Pastor asked worshippers not to be “deceived by the government or religious leaders”.   He also disclosed that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) projected that COVID-19 may reach its peak in August.

Lagos state government suspends the reopening of churches and mosques

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, has suspended the planned reopening of religious centers in the state.   Recall that on June 4, the state governor announced that religious centers will be allowed to open for worship provided they follow the COVID-19 guidelines. Oyo state reviews curfew, churches and mosques to operate at 25 per cent capacity

The Oyo state government has reviewed the curfew order issued to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state.  Governor Seyi Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa said the curfew would now run from 10pm to 4am.
