The Minister of foreign affairs Geoffrey Onyeama on Monday May 18, announced that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will take care of the hotel accommodation and feeding bills of Nigerians who were recently evacuated from countries they were stranded in. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has disengaged the services of over 100 workers as the oil firm rehabilitates its refineries. The workers affected are those contracted by selected contractors to work at refineries. According to Punch, after the NNPC disengaged the contractors, over 100 persons who were contracted by about five contracting outfits were asked to leave.
