Benue COVID-19 index case threatens to sue NCDC if she is not released within 7 days

Susan Idoko, the Benue state COVID-19 index case, has threatened to sue the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC if she is not released from the Abuja isolation center within the next seven days.   Idoko has been having a faceoff with the government since she was diagnosed with the virus. We send test results to states and not individuals

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has made a clarification of its role in combating the outbreak of diseases in the country.    The health agency made the clarification after Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr said he was discharged having contracted COVID-19 earlier without seeing his test result.    In a tweet which served as a response to the media mogul’s disclosure, the NCDC stated that it coordinates the communication of results between testing laboratories and States, who then communicate with individuals.

Coronavirus drugs are given to patients based on their individual conditions

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has warned Nigerians against self-medication.    The health agency said in its tweet that medicines given by authorised medical personnel to patients with diseases including COVID-19, are dependent on individual conditions.
