Akwa Ibom State government has dropped the charges against a pastor of Christ Embassy Church in Uyo the state capital, Emmanuel Effiong.   Effiong and a videographer in the church were arrested on Sunday, June 21 for allegedly assaulting the COVID-19 monitoring team in the state. They were accused of attacking the officials who were out to ensure all religious centers observed the COVID-19 guidelines. Christ Embassy drags Akwa Ibom state government to court over detained pastor

Believer’s Loveworld Inc aka Christ Embassy, Uyo zonal headquarters, has filed a lawsuit against the Akwa Ibom State government over arrest and detention of one of its pastors, Emmanuel Effiong, and a videographer, Gabriel Ekpa.   Both men were arrested by officials of the state COVID19 Monitoring Team on Sunday June 21.
