Soldier allegedly ‘under influence of drugs’ opens fire on civilians in Borno, kill three

A soldier with the Nigerian army’s operation Hadin Kai in Borno state killed three civilians on Wednesday, March 23.    According to The Cable, the soldier said to have been under the influence of “psychotropic substances” without any provocation, opened fire on the residents of Mafa town in Mafa Local Government Area of the state.    “The lifeless bodies of three persons were laying down flat at Mafa presently while many people sustained gunshot wounds,” a witness said.   About

Man arrested for allegedly raping four girls aged 4 to 7 years in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has arrested one Abubakar Baba, who allegedly raped four girls.   The State Police Commissioner, Abdu Umar, who disclosed this on Monday December 6, in Maiduguri, said two of the girls are four years old, the third is six, while the fourth is seven years old.   The alleged rapist was among the 58 suspects arrested for various offences ranging from rape, cultism to illicit drug trafficking in the state.   The arrests were made

19 Boko Haram fighters have surrendered to Nigerian army in Bama, Borno state. This is coming barely 3 days after 28 insurgents surrendered in the area. Boko Haram invades Gwoza in Borno state
