A loaded luxury bus with passengers belonging to GUO transport plunged into the Majidun River at Owode- Elede area of Mile 12, Lagos in the early hours of today. Three persons have been reported dead, while many were rescued from the Owode river.

According to the spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, three people, including the driver have been recovered dead. He said 48 people have been rescued.

The luxury bus, said to be coming from the South east, plunged into the river around 3am. The bus was filled with business men and women and their goods. The surviving victims have been rushed to the hospital.
