Musician and MD of Shuga Entertainment company, Akin Tofowomo, has said the newly created Association of Music Band Owners is to empower and organise the live music sector in the country.
In a speech he delivered at the unveiling of the association, Tofowomo said, “We can live and work in dignity. Our work should be fulfilling and compensated fairly. We deserve a meaningful voice in decisions that affect us and more importantly, it behoves us to harness the opportunity to develop our talents and skills. Through a unified approach, we can be that collective voice and power, thus opposing the exploitation of our talents, skill-set and the live music sector. In AMBON, we shall treat one another with respect and dignity without regard to ethnicity, age, social standing or experience.”
Speaking on ways by which the association intends to empower its members, Akin Shuga said, “Through training, workshops, conferences, seminars and summits, we shall develop highly-trained and motivated leaders at every level of the association who will, in turn, reflect the membership in all its diversity.”
