A sacked Delhi minister began a hunger strike on Wednesday, demanding that the anti-graft Aam Aadmi Party, led by Indian capital’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, reveal the details of foreign trips made by five of its top leaders.

Kapil Mishra, who was removed by Kejriwal as Delhi’s Water Resources Minister on Saturday, called his hunger strike a “peaceful protest.’’

“I will be fasting till the party shares details of the foreign travel of five leaders in the last two years. It is just a small thing.”

“You (Kejriwal) have said the party doesn’t have money to fight elections. Show where all the money for foreign trips comes from and prove me wrong.

“Once the details are revealed, the Chief Minister will be forced to resign,” he added.

The 36-year-old, who was sacked for mismanagement in water supply across Delhi, had levelled corruption allegations against the Delhi chief minister, claiming he saw Kejriwal accepting a bribe of 20 million Indian rupees (300,000 dollars) from Health Minister Satyendra Jain.

He also met sleuths of India’s Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday and the Delhi police’s anti-corruption branch chief M.K. Meena on Monday and submitted details of his allegations against the chief minister in a sealed envelope.

“I want to say that Kejriwal, Jain and I should go through a lie detector test,” Mishra said when asked about the evidence he had submitted to police.

The Delhi chief minister has not yet reacted to the allegations, but his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly defended him and rubbished the allegations of Mishra.
